A new regional flagship
Our Shippingport, PA campus marks our first investment in Pennsylvania and represents our long-term commitment to the region. This campus is designed to be a powerful economic engine, supporting thousands of local careers and driving continued economic development for the town and region.
This project will create thousands of local construction jobs during development and will transition to hundreds of full-time, long-term positions, providing lasting economic opportunity and strengthening the community. The tech hub is also projected to generate thousands of indirect jobs throughout the regional economy.
This project brings a $10 billion capital investment to serve the critical needs of the surrounding community. This project will also generate long-term property tax revenue to support local services.
We will prioritize the use of local construction labor and locally-sourced vendors whenever possible, while supporting nearby restaurants, hotels, and small businesses that serve on-site employees and contractors, ensuring the economic benefits reach the broader community.
This project will transform a dormant property into a community asset while generating jobs, supporting the local economy, and empowering the community.
More than just a data center campus, this project is a flagship development built to be a foundation for next-generation technology, designed to operate efficiently without placing additional strain on local utilities.
The campus will utilize a highly efficient air-cooled heat rejection system combined with a closed-loop cooling infrastructure designed to recycle water for cooling. This design requires water only for the initial system fill and subsequent minimal maintenance, with consumption limited only to essential non-industrial uses, such as restrooms and general amenities.
The Aligned campus is projected to save approximately 86% daily water usage compared to a residential development, and 95% compared to a typical heavy manufacturing industrial user.
Comparing the Aligned site to a heavy manufacturing industrial user, that is the equivalent water savings of filling an Olympic-sized swimming pool every 23.9 hours – every day, all year, every year for the life of the project.
Aligned’s campus will not require new transmission corridors or impose costs on customers
The campus is designed to feature natural gas-fed fuel cell technology, a highly efficient, low-carbon, and virtually non-polluting alternative for large-scale power generation
Two data centers on the campus will achieve full grid independence
The campus is engineered for seamless grid integration and optimized efficiency and will not cause grid instability
Operating sound levels are projected to remain within 55 to 65 dBA at the closest residence
Defined quiet hours for loud activities
Chillers & backup power generation equipment will feature critical-grade silencing technology; backup power generation equipment will also be housed within acoustically treated enclosures
Backup power generation equipment use is restricted to minimal, scheduled testing and maintenance, as well as rare emergencies
The project incorporates architectural setbacks
Our Commitment to Community
Aligned builds long-term community partnerships by listening to local input and creating meaningful, lasting opportunities for businesses and citizens to prosper.
