We believe that meaningful impact starts at the local level. As part of our Aligned Cares initiative, our team recently joined forces with Holder Construction, the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, and Spaces of Opportunity to plant more than 50 fruit and nut trees in the heart of South Phoenix.
This was a day of digging, planting and more importantly, a day of connection. Employees, students, nonprofit leaders came together with a shared goal: to invest in something that will nourish the community for generations to come.
A Living Commitment to the Community
The orchard, located at Spaces of Opportunity, is a symbol of collective care and long-term investment in community health and food access. As these trees grow, they’ll provide free, fresh produce to local families and serve as a learning space where people of all ages can gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture.
“Our goal was simple,” said a volunteer from the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation. “To make the benefits of fresh fruit and trees accessible to as many people as possible. Partnerships like this are how that happens.”
Education Rooted in Impact
Beyond the trees themselves, the day offered educational opportunities led by students from local programs, who shared what they’ve learned about planting, pruning, and nurturing fruit trees. It was a powerful moment—students becoming teachers, passing knowledge forward in a tangible, grounded way.
Through ongoing programs, community members will continue to learn how to care for these trees and harvest their bounty, turning this orchard into a long-standing resource.

Aligned is proud to partner with mission-driven organizations like the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, which has planted thousands of trees worldwide, and Spaces of Opportunity, a local Phoenix hub dedicated to transforming food access and education in underserved areas.
